Hand Painted Tuscany Vista Feature Wall Mural, South Wales

Well it was a first for me recently - painting a mural in an amazing wine cellar in South Wales - it was quite a challenge not to sample some of the lovely wines while creating my Tuscany Vista wall mural! - please may I add - all the wines were left untouched I promise :)

Hand Painted Cherry Blossom Tree Mural, London

I worked for a lovely couple lately - who had just purchased a fab flat in London and wanted a unique piece of artwork for their large lounge area. They wanted to bring the outside in but also wanted the design to be very tranquil.

I worked with the client and their ideas and created a wind swept soft toned blossom tree running across their 5 metre wall area - with little birds accenting the design.

Germany - Large School Wall Murals For the British Forces

I was very honoured to have been invited over to Germany  to work for the British army - I designed and painted four murals for a fab primary school called Heide school

The theme that my murals are designed on is iconic elements and buildings in the United Kingdom - as most of the children at this school will be moving back to the UK next year, and some of them have never been. More nice comments from the children today including "it's wicked miss" so all good!

My finished wall murals ended up covering over approx 50m of wall area around the school - it certainly has changed the environment of the school - plus we even managed to included the school chickens into our mural

Babies Nursery Soft Stitch Hand Painted Feature Jungle Wall Mural

This week I was working fairly local which makes a nice change. My client had booked me some time ago to paint a feature wall mural for her baby which was due at the end of November.  So you can imagine my surprise when I turned up to paint the mural for the nursery this week - and their greeting me at the door in his mothers arms was a gorgeous four day old little baby boy.

So luckily the room was ready for me to paint his mural - and the designs of the elephant, giraffe and lion came from the bedding and music mobile they have used to decorate the room.  Its was only quite a small room - so the images were enough to make a real statement - and created a cosy corner around the cot bed.

Jungle Animal Hand Painted Mural

This was a large feature wall mural for a lovely client based in Cheshire.  The client wanted a happy bright interesting design for her little boy's bedroom - but nothing that would scare him. So I designed this happy Jungle scene - in soft painted tones - but can you notice why the animals are all looking a little confused???

Pink Girly Flower Blossom & Princess Mural

Had real fun painting this castle bed. It was an amazing design and had two beds one inside and one above! - I hand painted a soft cherry blossom tree across the whole of the bed and on one wall area - wish I had had a bed like this when I was little don't you!

My client had two daughters who were going to share the room and there mum wanted them to also be included in the artwork - and painted as Disney Princesses - but with facial features like her daughters - quite a challenge was set - you see the results below!

This hand painted design combining a Disney feel with the soft tones of the flowers and blossom tree will be a design that won't date, as it has a classical style to it.

Playbarn / Soft Play Centre Hand Painted Murals - By Joanna Perry Murals

Soft Play Centres and Play Barns - Hand Painted Mural Schemes

New Soft Play Centre - Safari MK, Milton Keynes

The Project:  I have worked very closely with Gordon & Fiona Forster on their new venture of a top class children’s soft play venue in Milton Keynes. The vision of Gordon and Fiona was to not only provide a fantastic place for children to play but also provide specially designed spaces for children to develop there learning skills and use their imagination.
I created a jungle based design concept for the soft play venue and put together a series of designs based on the ideas and budget Gordon & Fiona provided.

Design Concept / Working Drawings

Once the designs were agreed – I also then provided a complete colour scheme for the rest of the soft play centre to compliment the murals that were going to be used throughout.

Main Soft Play Centre Murals
I developed a bespoke collection of Jungle animal characters for the new play centre which I painted in the main entrance to the play barn so the animals greeted you as you came in, and I also painted the characters on boards across large areas of wall within the main play area. I also created a colourful lively tropical palm design for the large areas of wall above the imagination huts.  This transformed the whole feel of the space from a blank, bland industrial unit into a bright, exciting inspiring space for children to play.

Imagination Themed Play Rooms

5 exciting 'Base Camp' role play rooms were created using my murals to illustrate each environment.... so the children could use their imagination - whether they wanted to fix some things in the Builders' Yard, cook or shop in the Supplies & Mess Hut, or have a dance on the Dance Mats in the Entertainment Hut, each room was equipped with masses of theme related toys, and bright and friendly murals to invite the children in.

Party Rooms
No soft play centre or play barn is complete without Party Rooms, and Safari MK has five fantastic ones. Glow in the Dark which I designed with a City scene mural using Glow in the Dark paint, and this theme really appealed to slightly older children as well. Then the other rooms included a football themed room, a Pirate themed room and a Princess and Knight party room. By the time Safari MK opened the party rooms were already extremely booked up, which just showed how much theming the rooms with murals worked.

Celebration / Craft Room
Safari MK had a large room which they wanted themed to appeal not only to children but also adults as well – so the space could be used for children’s parties and also adult group meetings and functions. I came up with the idea of a “Sunset Hut”– which combined the gorgeous colours of an African sunset with silhouettes of jungle animals – creating an inviting space for all ages, and also still incorporating the main centres theme – Jungle / Safari.
